Rufus Gandhi | IR Legal

Born and educated in London, Rufus Gandhi is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales and Australia (Queensland). He began his career in London, with subsequent experience in New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, and Aberdeen, before relocating to Australia. Rufus has held senior in-house and advisory roles - including General Counsel, Company Secretary, and Commercial Manager - across major infrastructure, energy, and resources projects. His work spans corporate governance, commercial and construction law, mergers and acquisitions, and complex project delivery frameworks. He has also provided strategic legal and commercial advice on high-value transactions and risk allocation under Construct Only, D&C and EPC frameworks.

Rufus provides comprehensive corporate and commercial legal services, including contract negotiation and drafting, corporate governance and secretarial matters, procurement and project advisory, mergers and acquisitions, energy and resources projects, commercial dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance. He has extensive experience bridging legal, commercial, and delivery teams to align governance, risk, and procurement frameworks and has led claims management, procurement strategy, and contract administration for multi-party, high-value infrastructure programs.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from University College London, a Graduate Certificate in Applied Corporate Governance and Risk from the Governance Institute of Australia and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Outside Interests

Rufus is actively involved in community and sporting initiatives. He serves as Company Secretary and Executive Member of Valley District Cricket Club and as a Council Member at Calvary Christian College. A passionate cricketer, he is also a Level 2 Cricket Coach accredited by UKCC and Cricket Australia.
